Vaani Tiwari

VAANI TIWARI is a fifteen-year-old sophomore at Granite Bay High School. Her passion for storytelling began in elementary school, where she couldn’t stop sharing or listening to tales—whether they were stories she heard from others, her own experiences, or ones conjured from her imagination.

Over the past few years, she’s channeled that passion into writing, with her favorite genres being fantasy and historical fiction.  This love for narrative led her to the TEDx stage, where she explored how the past shapes the present in her talk, "The Colonial Mindset and How It Relates to Society Today".

Vaani currently holds a Governor’s Medallion in the Arts, and some of her shorter works have been featured in Youth Takeover Magazine, CSSSA Literary Magazine, and The Persimmon Review. Outside of writing, she is a black belt in the martial arts, preparing for her fourth-year exams in Kathak, and leads her school’s Creative Writing Club.
